The Peanut Gallery sat just inside the door of the film area, so the talk stayed about the work. This is how we keep it that way.
- Talk next to the work. Most threads belong to a round, a film, a crew call or a screening. One general room and a few craft rooms. We resist adding more.
- Rhythm over feed. Something is always due. Home shows the current round, what's finished and what's screening next, not the latest posts.
- Finishing is what counts. Profiles lead with films made and films crewed. The only reaction is "helpful".
- No feed, no likes, no follower counts. One email a week. No per-reply notifications.
- Taking part unlocks the good stuff, gently. Anyone can read and chat. Screening slots, swap crew calls and hosting local nights come from having made or crewed something. First-timers get a buddy and priority.
- Feedback is invited, not imposed. Only when the maker asks for it, only from people who watched. One thing that worked, one thing to try.
- Terms are always explicit. Swap, expenses or paid, stated on every crew call. This is a space for no-budget films made for love. Nobody is asked to work for free and pretend it's a job.
- Day jobs are welcome. We never ask whether someone is "professional". People are measured by films made and help given.
- Be generous. Draw people in with the couch, not the grievance.
